Navisphere Download & Installation

Here is a direct download link for the Navisphere Simulator:

Before you go for installation of this simulator, there are some things to be kept in mind. I have tried this simulator on Windows 7 but not Mac book, so can't say about installation in a MAC OS.
Recommended requirements for this simulator to work fine:
  • Windows XP
  • JRE version 5 or below
  • Java compiler path mentioned in the Environment Variable of your computer (Click here for instructions)
  • Last but not the least, Internet Explorer
I have installed using the following settings:

  • Windows 7(64-bit)
  • JRE 6 update 32
Now when you start installation, one of the following errors may occur:
  1. The program can't start because MSVCR71.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.(Click here for the solution.)
  2.  Invocation of this Java Application has caused an InvocationTargetException.
I encountered the 1st problem and was able to install the simulator after applying the fix given below. As far as 2nd problem is concerned, i am not able to find a solid and appropriate solution. For fixing the 2nd error you may try downgrading your JRE to version 5 or check if the Path is set in the Environment variable. Lastly if you have installed it successfully, just register yourself and proceed to use this simulator and don't forget to open it in Internet Explorer because it won't work with Firefox or Chrome.

Fix to MSVCR71.dll

  • Go to My computer > C: drive or where your OS is installed
  • In the search box on the top right corner type MSVCR71.dll or XP users simply press Ctrl+F and type MSVCR71.dll and click search.
  • I found  this file in the following location:
    C:\Users\User_PC\AppData\Local\Temp\I1355498120\Windows\resource\jre\bin
but these locations differ from pc-to-pc
  • Copy the file MSVCR71.dll from this location and paste it in the following location:
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64
  • Click Ok>OK>Apply and OK
  • Now try running the setup again.

Set Environment Variable path:

Go to My computer > Properties > Advanced System Settings > Environment Variables > in System Variables >

Select Path n click edit, Variable Value: add a semi-colon(;) in the end or if it is already present then copy-paste the java compiler path (C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_32\bin) after the semi-colon and add another semi-colon after adding this path.
